Take Advantage: One of the Last Farmer’s Markets in D.C.

Eastern Market crab cake sandwich; Great with a sweet tea!

Eastern Market, in Capitol Hill, is one of the original farmer’s market established when D.C. itself was. Now, instead of featuring just local produce, dairy and baked goods, you can find many vendors selling homemade crafts and artwork too.

Make sure to stop by on Sundays for Market Lunch and plenty of perusing. Market Lunch boasts one of the best crab cake sandwiches in the D.C. area. Expect to pay a little less than $10 and possibly more if you want to splurge on an authentic Southern-style sweet tea (very hard to find in D.C.).
